temp alarm M25, where to put the switch?

Good afternoon,

Any good suggestion where to put the switch for the temp alarm for the
M25? There is only one available port on the thermostat block, and I don't feel like drill/tap another hole in the block, as was suggested by a neighbor...

thanks,

You might want to look into this alarm,

http://www.borelmfg.com/products_alarm.htm.

I saw it in PASSAGEMAKER and several owners at my marina have installed them. They attach to the exhaust hose between the mixing elbow and the muffler. If you loose raw water flow the alarm will sound long before the engine temp alarm will go off. With no raw water flow there a very real possibility of damaging the exhaust hose and/or muffler before you know you have lost engine cooling.

I mounted my temperature sender switch in the coolant line to the water heater. I felt that the weight of the two senders was too much to hang off of the thermostat housing. While not ideal, it does work sufficiently fast to prevent damage in a broken belt situation.
