lazy jack/sail cover

I am looking at replacing my mainsail cover and am now considering the combo lazy jack/sail cover. The mainsail drops into the cover, which zips to encase the sail. I have seen them on Dufour and Hunter yachts and others made by UK / Neil Pryde / Sailnet’s loft.

Does anyone have experience with this product? I see slots for the reefing line, but how do you secure the mid boom reef points? Do these units work with a closed footed main? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have also installed a Mack Pack system on my E35-3 and am very happy with its performance. There are some complications but it is a vast improvement over lazy jacks and a separate sail cover. We used to look for excuses not to use the main and sail on headsail only. The biggest problem is getting the reefing lines under control when lowering the main. That was also a problem before but is not as bad as it used to be.
