Excellent new thread title!

Here's Phil MacFarlane on Ericsons offshore (from another thread):

I’ve sailed her across the Pacific between Hawaii and San Francisco six times. Five times solo. Twice without an autopilot.
We have done Mexico in her Twice.
She lives in San Francisco Bay.

I have sailed and raced on many boats over the last twenty-six years. This is one of the all time great boats in my opinion.

But, they are old now so be prepared to do some work or pay to have it done.

Phil MacFarlane
E 35 MkII #184 Sail a Vie

And to add to the Hawaii run, an E32-3 sailed there and back in 2014.

It seemed like a better title for several reasons. ... Just one of the vast "powers" given to a moderator... or perhaps "half vast"... !

Don't forget that at least two Olson 34's have soloed to Hawaii and returned, as well.
Ericson Yachts built very solid boats.
:egrin:

Have you all seen this site? I enjoy the way this page is set up and like reading many of the reviews. Some are better researched that others. But I'm surprised there is not one Ericson model reviewed.

I read their Catalina 27 review--as a "blue water" boat--and found it pretty objective.

I think the site would love for any of us to contribute a review of an Ericson model, if anybody feels like doing it.

Yeah I really don't think the Catalina 27 ranks with any of the boats on that site. There is a section of recommended boats that you can vote for. I added the E-36C and the E-39B, but the E-27 and E-31 Independence are also listed. Here's the link to that section.
