I have a sloppy tiller assembly to my rudder post. Dose anyone know where I might find a new/used one?

tiller head

I don't know about the E-27, but the tiller head on my E-30 (1969) is available from edson as a bronze casting. They will mill the interior for an exact fit to your existing rudder post. Here is a link to the catalog page with the fitting and bearings. You can order direct from them or go through your favorite rigging store. This is where I insert a plug for Maggie at New England Yacht Rigging who is perhaps the most helpful person you could deal with in these situations. http://www.edsonmarine.com/sailcatalog07/00025.htm

Is the slop in the tiller assembly...or the rudder post...or both? My guess is both. You might be able to fix it entirely by redrilling the hole in your rudder post and tiller assembly one size larger. The larger size will probably last longer than the original hole.
