FS: 1978 E31 Independence Cutter: PRICE $27K OBO

We have decided to lay the groundwork for our long term liveaboard and cruising plans by buying a larger boat. This means that we will have to part with (reluctantly) our Independence 31. We are still trying to determing our asking price but are open to reasonable offers.

She is located near the Little Creek Amphibious base in Norfolk, VA. We will be hauled out the first week of July to complete some of the items listed below. After that I will be moving on to other, more cosmetic issues.

You're in JULY already?!?

- new (Jul '07) cutless bearing
- new (Jul '07) seackocks for cockpit drains, engine intake, galley sink
- new (Jul '07) Drivesaver shaft coupling
- painted bottom (Jul '07)
- repacked stuffing box (Jul '07)
- rebedded staysail traveller (Jul '07)

I'm a little confused on your dates, Dan. I know Idaho is perceived as being way behind the times compared to the east coast; we are still in JUNE of '07 out here! :egrin:

Looks like a well-loved Ericson. Nice!

no time warp neccessary

"We will be hauled out the first week of July to complete some of the items listed below. "

Probably shouldn't have used past tense tho....

additions and asking price

I wanted to mention a few other things that I will be doing to the engine during our July haul-out:

- valve job (including new valve stem seals and new guides, etc. as needed)
- replace rear main seal
- replace all seal rings on the metal cooling system pipes
- new head gasket
- injector service
- clean heat exchanger
- new motor mounts

After doing a bit of research into the actual selling prices of E31's over the past couple years we are setting the asking price at $27K.

Feel free to email or PM with questions or comments.
