compass size

Can anyone tell me what size compass fits on top of the steering pedestal on a 1976 E27? Are they all one standard size?

I think the model is a constellation by Danforth.

The Danforth Company used be on Commercial Street in Portland, Maine, may still be there.

As of sometime in the 80's, Ericson was installing the Ritchie SP-5C Binnacle Mount GlobeMaster on top of many many YS steering pedistals. That is the stock model for our wheel-option '88 Olson, and I have seen this on other Ericsons of the era.
If you can source one at a decent discount I would reccommend it for ease of reading. It should be an easy install on any "YS" Yacht Specialties (or newer Edson) pedistal.

I measured one on a friends boat and it is the same size as mine-4 1/2" Danforth.

The opening at the pedestal mouth is about 15mm or about 5 7/8"

Does anyone know if a top plate/guard holder for edson 300 series pedestal would fit on the Yacht Specialties pedestal?
