Pics?

Is there a URL for photos of the boat, perchance?
Can you post the asking price also?

Thanks,
Loren

ps: some of the early 38's had "over engineered" Atkins Hoyle hatches, including an alloy-framed sliding hatch -- is this the situation here?

a different sort of hatch

http://www.atkinshoyle.com/

Their site nowadays shows only hatches and ports, but back in '81 they were also making sliding hatch assemblies for boats.
When we were shopping for our next boat in '93/'94, one of the ones we looked at in SF was an Ericson 38 with all Akinshoyle hatches. Since that was the brand used on our previous boat (Niagara 26) we knew they were good quality.

That Ericson was the only one we ever saw with the AH slider for the main cabin hatch. The lens was set into a black-anodized frame like you would see on a large opening hatch, and that assembly slid forward under the seahood on cast alloy rails. Or, that's how I remember it all these years later. It seemed a bit unconventional, but very strong appearing. The teak hatch boards ("drop boards") were same as usual.

FWIW, we liked the boat a lot, but at that time it was out of our price range.
Then we found the Olson 34 fixer-upper and, as they say, "the rest is history."

Well we've finally forced ourselves to really list her with a broker, if anyone is interested she is listed through Flyingcloudyachts.com as well as on yachtworld.com
:esad: so I guess we're really doing this after all of these years

Updated price

We have lowered the asking price on NoProblemo to $59,900.00, against our brokers advice, for her to have a new home soon to someone who will sail her the way she needs to be used.

Ours does not have the rounded "hump" seats, and yes those pictures are of our villa, not in Cabo thogh, we're half way between Rosarito & Ensenada, closer to the border in case of a medical emergency for us. Since sailing is now out for us this is the next best for us anyway.
