Line Cutter opinions?

Line Cutter

I noticed in the thread about props that Loren's boat had a line cutter installed on the shaft. My question is how well do they work? Sailing at night and trying to dodge crabpots in the dark is a night mare. Not to mention going over the side and saying hello to the jelly fish population. They have an annoying habit of wanting to make friends and shake hands.

Happy Holidays to All!

We had the boatyard put on linecutters called Spurs several years ago. Work very well, but I wouldn't try to do install them myself, very tricky. Also need to replace the zincs that they come with every year or so.

We had Spurs installed several years ago and they work very well. Don't try it yourself as it's a boatyard job. Remember the small anodes need to be change every couple of years.
