I would like to put new rings etc. in my engine. I have it out to repair or replace the tranny which gave up on the forward gear.. looks like my winter is going to be fun..fun..fun.
Would appreciate a shop manual for these.

Universal Sites

Here are some Universal Sites that helped me on my Repower.
Westerbeke owns Universal now. The internal parts catologue is free on
www.marinedieseldirect.com. The Original Brochures, History and Install
Manual are on www.westerbeke.com. Do yourself a favor and buy the
Shop Manual from Marine Diesel, they are great at trouble shooting and
always have time for your questions. Short Blocks are available from
www.enginepowersource.com. if she's really hosed. These engines were
COMMONLY used in BobCats / Small Equipment and are available rebuilt.
All ya gotta do is bolt on all yer Marine Stuff :D
Another COOL site is www.atomic_four_engine_service.ca in Vancouver.
Buy the parts from your local Kubota Tractor Dealer and save lots of money.

Good Luck :egrin: :egrin:

Universal Lore

The Universal 5424 was built from 1977-1983. The next generation M-30
was built from 1983 to 1987. Both of these engines used the Kubota D-1101
engine block. Thats the information you need to get the right Tractor Parts
or rebuilt Engine :nerd: All info is on the Atomic Four Site

I have the Service Manual and Parts Manual for the above.....too large to upload as PDF. Would be happy to send off list. Or you could go to the links listed earlier and download.

Thanks ever so much for the replies...You "almost" got me on the boat to do those repairs.
Just need the manual for the Hurst tranny now..and I'm a happy sailor ( at least I will be when I get this mistress in shape.)
