E35-2 Cabin Sole Project

Clay Carter

New Member
I took out the cabin carpet of my E35-2 and found the fiberglass floor to be stained. Thinking about having a teak and holly floor to cover it. I'm not a carpenter, but can do some pretty basic woodworking.

QUESTIONS:
Is there an existing cabin sole template for E35-2's that I could use to make these panels?

Is this a "BIG" project?

Can you buy these pre-made anywhere?

Do they just rest on top of the floor or must they attach?

Any words of wisdom on this subject are appreciated.

Thanks. Clay

Cabin sole

Clay-
Read the "Removal of glued down cabin sole" thread below. There are four pages of very helpful advice on re-installing the floor. I don't know if a template exist, but my suggestion is make a template. The template can be made of heavy cardbord stock or 1/8" luan plywood. Just remember the woodworkers moto "measure twice, cut once". When working with teak I measure three, sometimes four times before cutting!

Good luck
Kevin
