Here is a trick we came up with during this years' Cabo Race:
During heavy running conditions, a "planted" spinn pole by one of our less experienced drivers sheared the Harken spinnaker pole car from the mast and tore the track off for about a 2' section.
Obviously there were loose ball bearings all over the deck which could not be retrieved. How to secure the car back onto the remaining track?
Solution:
2 drill bits (1/4 and 5/16, I think) from our tool kit fit right into the groove where the bearings were and both stabilised the car on the track and provided a smooth enough bearing surface-allowing us to continue using the spinn pole on the track.
Thanks to our bow man!
Good times!
