Forestay attachment point masthead

hi all,

where should the forestay (via toggle) attach to the casting? Is it the hole where the pin is pointing (not using that pin) or the hole below it closer to the mast (where there already is a pin inserted)? I'm almost certain the correct location is were the pin is and imagine the one below for a furler but for several reasons i still have doubts. thank you!

I have a different masthead, but on mine, the inner toggle is for the forestay (with or without furler) and the outer toggle is for the spinnaker halyard. This is a little close if a furler is added, just begging for a halyard wrap, so some people bolt on a little crane fitting on top to get the spinnaker halyard a few inches farther away.

Hi Todster, thanks for that info it helped me a lot! you are correct, that point is where one would attach the block for the spinnaker halyard. Wish I would had known before having the forestay made but at least now i'm sure.
