My Favorite Offshore Routine Things

I started this video a few years ago and dropped it because land things quickly occupied my attention after the return. I made it to try and capture some of the daily routine: caffeine, gear checks, horizon scans, gear checks, stumbling around holding on, staring at boat/nature, gear checks, more caffeine.

Really great. Also, you must have the best and shiniest gimballed stove in our fleet.

It was new then, having replaced a fixed stove. I bought it mostly with accumulated reward points from WM. Its a bit small for the space, but it managed to produce a few loaves of bread, and a batch of hard tack.

Very cool.
I would be interested in hearing about the success of the fire place and flue?

I had to chuckle a little on that one. I never used it during the trip, but I didn't think to remove the chimney on deck. The top lid of the chimney came unwelded and blew over the side somewhere in the first week of the return. I stuffed the open hole and wrapped the outside with plenty of trash bags and blue tape. You can see it around minute 2 of this video, which I created and posted a while ago: https://vimeo.com/200234083

Aside from that, the whole unit got pretty rusty with the salt water intrusion....took a while to get it polished and clean again after I got back.
