Atomic 4 engine controls

Would anyone know of a source for
engine controls for my 1974 E32 Atomic 4.
I was curious about using the Teleflex 2100
single lever dual action controls in place of
the current setup.

http://www.teleflexmorse.com/scripts/PDF/ch2100.pdf

I am also currently trying to remove the existing controls.
There is a flange holding the controls in place that
I cannot remove. Does anyone know if it is perhaps
pressed on or threaded? It almost appears welded.
I have removed all nuts and screws that might be
holding it in place.

Also there are no markings on my cables. Not sure if
one of the 3300/4300/6400 cables from Teleflex will work.

Thanks in advance. Steve.

I replaced the (also red) control cable on my 1973 E27 a couple of years ago. It had a p/n stamped on it, but the boat supply place called the manufacturer and it was no longer valid. They did have a cross-ref for it and it had to be made up custom. Took only a couple of weeks.

Unfortunately, I don't have any of the info (mfgr or supply house) with me here at home. I'll try to remember to look for it when I'm down to the boat the next time.

Steve;

I am not sure that you can find a single lever that will control an Atomic 4. I tried to find one of these several years ago, but couldn't find one. I think the issue has to do with the throw required for the clutch versus that required for the throttle. The documentation link you provided doesn't reference the Atomic 4.

In my case, I just refurbished the original controls and replaced the cables.

Good luck with your project.

Steve,
I replaced my transmission control cable with a Teleflex from West marine, and had problems with the diameter being too small and insufficiently stiff. Eventually it bent when shifting my A4 into reverse. The rod is #10, which looked a lot smaller than the cable that I was replacing.

What I then did was get a 5/16" cable from www.mcmaster.com - look under "Control Cables" - for around $100. It looks identical to what you show in your picture.
