[E32-3] Adding new battery bank, installing monitor

My biggest concern is my friend who is coming cruising requires a CPAP at night, which assuming a 3A draw for 8hrs of sleep is at least 24Ah, which is more than half of a single 79A West Marine AGM capacity, assuming good hygiene. The parallel bank will give me some breathing room here.

And let me run the fridge to keep the drinks colder.

The ACR is a good callout - I came to a similar conclusion by the end of this week so will be working that into the plan as well.

One question I have - the run from the settee to the ACR could be 7-10 feet, what gauge wire do I need to ensure the starting current can go through without issue?

Allow me mention, in addition to battery bank size, monitor and shore charger--the alternator.

Do you need a more powerful alternator, with a "smart" regulator that can rapidly recharge the bank? (a stock alternator can't)

The answer depends on how long away from shore power, how long at anchor, and so on.
