Raft-up on Antipoison Creek off the Chesapeake Bay

L

Guest
Met some friends this past weekend at Antipoison Creek for an overnight stay. Ended up staying rafted up all night. Had some heavy rain in the middle of the night, but well protected in that creek from the wind. The water is actually warm enough for swimming if you just stay on the surface. Five feet down it was freezing.
Our friends own a Beneteau 423. They have all anchor rode, so we just nestled in to them. Was a nice weekend even with a little rain.

I had to look it up so I didn't try to pronounce "Antipoison" in French.

Whew. Close one.

The Creek got its name when local Native Americans treated John Smith for a stingray injury. Smith was either treated at Antipoison Creek, or the cure was found at the creek- versions vary.
