Sailed over to Onancock this past Friday...video

Videos are a bit boring, but I love looking at sailboats underway and thought I would share with others.
Pete on his 40' Sabre "Spartina" had some trouble raising his main and in the first video we are waiting, then going back so we can all start together. We had some really great wind all day and made the 36 mile trip in 5 hours, and that is including going back for Pete.

Second video we've settled in and are almost out of the Rappahannock river, still not quite in the Chesapeake Bay.

Looks like a heck of a windy day. Cool footage, though it looked a little chilly for shorts and a t shirt :)

It was windy. Small craft advisory for the Bay. We had steady 17 - 20 knots and some gusts much higher.
It was chilly. When we left the marina it felt warm, but once out in the river and into the wind it was cold. After getting underway we both put on some warmer clothes. Was a really good sail across the Bay Friday and had a good sail coming back Sunday. Sunday took longer as the wind was from the Southwest, then shifted from the South, forcing us to sail almost straight across the Bay. Then we motored down a couple miles with the wind on our nose to the mouth of the Rappahannock since we needed to get back sooner than later. Was able to then sail up the river to our home port. Sunday mileage was 44 miles.
