Watched the Colin Ferrell Crowhurst big budget movie- tedious
Watched the doc style Crowhurst movie- I liked it.
Still finishing Sir Robin's account of the race.
read the Cape Horners book- liked it.
Watched the journey of the Peking on youtube- wow
Desire to round Cape Horn- high
Likelihood of that happening- near zero

Anyway I'm pretty pumped about this race.

The Crowhurst documentary was sobering.

Just finished following the VOR. Our American team Vestas 11 Hour Racing didn’t do too well. They sunk a Chinese fishing boat and killed the skipper, lost their mast........Team Skallywag lost “Fish” in the Southern Ocean...terrible.

At an average speed of 4-5 knots (instead of 25) this race will hopefully be less damaging.
