Greetings,
I downloaded the Service Manual for above; it is referenced for a 76 engine. Mine is a 72 model.
Section 5 - Powerhead reads: 8. Remove 4 screws and 2 nuts attaching powerhead to adaptor...see 5-9
I found 5 "screws" - 7/16" bolts - and one 1/2" nut (on the port side). I could not locate the second nut. My assumption is that the fasteners are symmetrical on the block, but apparently they are not. Is there a difference between the 72 & 76?
The plan is to replace the 2 cycle gas engine with a diesel.
So, with tears in my eyes, I am asking if anyone has pulled the powerhead, and where did you find the second nut?
Thanks for any assistance!
Jim K
