Old Boat, Unlimited Budget, 2 1/2 Years

The Schaefer Marine video series on restoring a venerable Cal 40 is quite well done.

This episode--the boat is nearing ready for launch--provides a long walk-through of upgrades, solutions and ideas that are likely of interest to anybody wondering what time and resources can do.

The marvelous Cal 40 has had many racing successes and this one will have more still. But it's still an old boat, like ours.

Nearly every issue, from rainwater down the mast to dorade boxes to propane storage, has a direct application to Ericson restoration.

Someday I'd like to find a small, comfortable unlimited budget of my own. Used would be acceptable.

Good vids for a rainy day

I started at the beginning watching.
very interesting and well done.

Looks like a cameo of a blue e335II towards the end of episode 4!

At 22:30 in the linked video, "hotboxes".

I wish I had thought of these 12v sub-boxes when I was revising my panel. I may still add one. They get wires off the main breakers, reducing the clutter there.

Good for "anything with an on/off switch".
