E-39 Door Options

hi all,
I had been sailing Ericson 39 flushdeck 1972, since 2012.
Its a very responsive, maneuverable and fast boat. Really happy to own it.

Need help on finding a door that separates companionway from V-berth.
Tried to build a door myself, but didn't work.
any idea where can I purchase a door?
thank you!

Wow Zombie Thread!

We found it of little use and just kept it open all the time.

Alternately you could flip the head door around so that it opens the other way, and it could be the door for both. (This is how the door works on our 46).

Finding one already built is going to be a difficult task.

Why did you not succeed in building one? Do you have the head door for a pattern?

Using head door for v-berth door..

hi, thanks for your response!
yes it occurred to me that the same door can serve 2 purposes.. however I would prefer to have a separate door in v-berth, in case someone needs to use the head and someone else needs privacy in v-berth :)
I tried building the door... twice! and wasn't satisfied with results.
the problem with v-berth door opening is that it's uneven shape not only in 2 dimensions but in 3 dimensions.. that means that 2dimentional template would not work.. seems like I will have to "build the door around the boat"
any idea which business can help me with this job? at this point I am ready to pay several hundreds, just to get this done..
thank you!

Have you thought about some sort of curtain or flexible partition instead of a door?

Interesting topic, but little related to the 2003 thread on buying an e39.
So I moved the posts to a new thread.

ps: Guy, try using a wooden stake!
