E32-3 Haulout - Seascape @ San Francisco Boatworks

I got the estimate for all the work on Seascape

The bottom paint and engine service are not out of line with what I recently paid at KKMI and H&M in Sausalito. Some items really rankle, replacing a bilge pump switch ($59 at WM) - possibly the easiest thing to replace on the boat (if you have the crimper) - $180 of labor really? Unfortunately you cannot repair the most costly items yourself.

I don't want to rain on your plans. I'm sure you have good reasons to pay whatever they've quoted you. Maybe it's just that bit of Scottish in my blood, but if we were sitting at the bar having a cocktail together, I would be handing you telephone numbers of folks who would charge you much less.

Either way, you will have a fantastic boat when you are finished.

Try contacting Guy Stevens. He's a great resource and not far from you. I was aboard his boat in October and I believe there isn't much he can't do. Heck he makes a mean guitar too (I want one for the plug Guy!)
