E34-2 fuel leak at tank inlet

During the pre-purchase survey we found a diesel fuel leak at the tank inlet. I'm still waiting for the broker to get me more info from the seller on this leak such as how long it's been going on and any other details on it. From the pictures it looks like the hose is failing.

Has as anyone else experienced leaks in this area?




I am also curious what the unused fitting is for between the fuel pickup and return lines. (Has paper towel wrapped around it )

How difficult is replacing the fill line? I also need to add the required bonding wire between the deck fitting and tank.

When I replaced the original fuel fill hose in '08, the original one had permeated and I could smell the diesel working its way through the layers.
I would guess that your hose is overdue for replacement as well.

Our boat came with a ground wire from the deck fitting to the tank, and that was also replaced as part of a general up-grade of the fuel system.
