Hey fellow Ericsonites, I'm looking for a single cable deck stanchion for a 72 E29. Any ideas?

An alternative, maybe

Hey fellow Ericsonites, I'm looking for a single cable deck stanchion for a 72 E29. Any ideas?

Plan B might be to have an existing stanchion repaired.
Some years ago we had 8 of them refurbished along with a bent section in the bow pulpit. At the time I could not find an exact replacement style stanchion for our '88 model boat.
The cost of having them straightened and buffed back to a mirror polish actually was less than I would have spent on new ones, and any new ones I could find were not going to be a true match for the others.

So finding a good metal shop experienced in marine work might be a good idea. That's if you have the old metal, even though it needs repair.

ps: speaking of "salvage" we have a chandler in PDX that has quite a stack of consigned stanchions. Sending them a picture of what you need along with precise measurements might be a good idea.

Stanchion

Thanks. Unfortunately the stanchion got lost. Thank you for the excellent feedback.

Replacing that base.

Shu, I seem to recall learning that Garhauer 909.985.9993 will fabricate a base to your specs. You might want to call them to talk about it further to: 1. Confirm that I'm not dreaming that up and, 2. To see just what they'd need from you to do it. Good for you, stuff is important to mee too. Best of luck, Glyn Judson, E31 hull #55, Marina del Rey CA
