mast rigging

On my e-34 there are two lines on the mast that attach between the spreaders I have no idea what they are for.Any help would be appreciated

Perhaps they are left over from a lazy jack installation, from a prior owner?

One more guess....

Flag halyards? Mine are attached to the spreaders and are small line.

Thanks Loren after looking at the lines wrapped up in a ball at the end I think you are correct
