E38 Saloon Table Conversion

Hello!

Christian's post on converting his saloon table to a smaller folding one here has me envious:

The table on our E38 is a real pain to get in and out of, and it would make the cabin feel larger if the table wasn't so big. I think overall, we would be happier with a smaller folding table, and we would utilize the seats around the table more. Has anyone done something similar with their E38 saloon table?

Thanks,
Mark

E38-200 Saloon Table

Mark, I share your disdain for this rather large table. Mine needs a full refinishing and before undertaking I thought of perhaps, making it smaller. Christians clever arrangement looks difficult with the mast in the way however, what about shaving the table down 1-1.5" and resurfacing the edges ? Won't it still work as a bunk and be much more manageable for sitting.
