Ericson 32-3 Whisker Pole Ring

Hello all - I plan on installing a pole on my 1985 Ericson 32-3. The mast doesn't have a ring installed on it. Anyone have advice on the proper height to fix it (distance from the deck)?

Have you considered a short length of track with an adjustable eye?

Something like this:

The track idea is good.

To find the location of a simple ring on the mast, hoist the genoa and connect the whisker pole to the clew. Hold the pole level. That's where the ring goes.
