mainsheet traveler arch

Hey guys and gals, I'm thinking about fabricating a "Hunter" style arch for my 1978 E-32. Anyone have experince with an overhead traveler? I like the look of the foward rake and its ability to accomadate a bimini. I like end of boom sheeting and don't feel that putting the traveler in front of the dodger would work very well(13' boom). Using the pushpit stantions with1/12" tubing and adding taff-rail seats like the new(2004) Hunter '33' seems like it would be attractive. My big concerns are rigidity and function. What are the considerations of an arch mounted main sheet traveler?

Arches

You will probably have to raise the boom to make this work, and that means shortening your main.

More inportantly, those Hunter sustems are not much fun to work with, have a lot of weight and windage, and inconvenient for trimming.

I would hate to see a high end boat reconfigiured to look like a low end boat!
