Bottom problems

John Lindstrom

I had a boat yard peel the gel-coat off the bottom of my boat and, at there recomendation, apply interprotect 2000 directly to the bare(gel-coat removed) laminate. I now find out that they should have sealed the hull with interprotect 1000 first, as the 2000 has a solvent in it that could wick into the fiberglass and cause the hull to delaminate. The interlux tec-rep I talked to was of no help, other than confirming the possibility of a delamination problem, and stateing how the 2000 was intended to be used. The boat yard says that Interlux wants to sell the whole system and that putting 2000 over bare laminate is done regurly withno delamination problems. Does anyony out there have any experiance on how to correct this or am I worring over nothing? Thanks for the help: :esad:
