Santa Anna winds blowing on the Buccaneers! :jollyroge

I got a call from a friend of mine last night who said that they are having boats move around in anticipation of a Santa Anna wind event due to hit today. He was on the string line with his little MacGragor 22-2 and they kicked him off the string live and moved him out to a mooring for a 50 footer. He said they removed the string line all together. He also said the harbor patrol was having some other boats reposition them selves to bow out rather than bow in.

This is the weekend of the 24the Annual Buccaneer Days so the place is jam packed. I have never had any interest in going over there and playing Pirate and the event has a reputation for a lot of drunken scallywags, but I pray for the safety of every one over there.

Ah, yes...Buccaneer Day! I forgot all about that! I was wondering why the Isthmus was so crowded on the web cam! I'm with you, Jeff: I don't like crowds, much less drunken ones. If the Santa Anas blow with significant strength that far out then the Harbor Patrol is going to have their hands full, especially with all the drunks trying to find their way back to their boats! I'm heading over to Cat Harbor the week after next (from Tuesday through Sunday) and by then there should be relatively few boats there--although there is some kind of "cruiser's weekend" deal planned.I'm he

I do believe that is what a sailboat is supposed to look like. Nothing prettier in the world....
