As usual, what I thought would be a quick fix ended up being more involved...

One of the strengths but also weaknesses of the Ericson 25CB is the outboard sits in a transom cutout which will cause the prop and rudder to collide if steered hard to port while under power. Previous owners did this and caused gel coat damage on the starboard side of rudder. Fixing this prop damage is how the rebuild started.
I drilled out all the bad areas and filled with straight epoxy. Later I fared with epoxy + fairing compound. No water had seemed to ever make its way into the core.

I ended up having to do the whole rudder because I found other cracking and wanted it perfect. Ready to paint.

I'll be painting both the centerboard and rudder with Total Barrier coat and finishing it off with what I assume is now contraband 20% copper anti fouling that came with the boat.
