Wiring & Engine Detail, part 2

These photos show the Halon bottle in place, and also a much better look at the inside of the compartment where the meter and terminal strip are mounted.
As an "extra" there is a shot of the new...

Liveaboard Prep 1: Removal of Wine Rack pt. 2 (and v berth cushions)

With the bottom "U" piece out, and both screws removed from the top "U" piece, we are now just left with the 4-hole piece in the back.

This piece was held in by the two screws already removed...

Liveaboard Prep 1: Removal of Wine Rack (gasp) pt. 1

I think everyone with Ericsons of a certain size and vintage is intimately acquainted with the signature wine rack, though I don't think I've ever seen any pictures of a boat here with wine in the...

    Re-Re-Re Re-Rig

Music and lyrics by Max Headroom. So the rig is down and out on a greenhouse table where I can work on it in relative comfort. Good thing too, because there is a thick layer of snow and re-re-re...

New Hour Meter & Halon Status light (part 1)

After removing the old (crumbling lens) Halon status light in its escutcheon plate, I needed to install a new one. The purpose of that light is to see if the Halon extinguisher has discharged,...

Here are some pix of the underside of the starb. deck above the galley. I opened up this area two years ago to get at the wiring that goes thru there to the next area aft, the overhead in the hanging...

The site was sold to Pacific Seacraft in 2003 and then returned at the end of 2004. It is supported by donations from many kind Ericson Yacht owners. Specific site history can be found here.

The Ericson name and logo are property of Pacific Seacraft Corporation. Some of the images on this site are the property of King Photos, and have been reproduced with their permission. If you have any questions regarding ownership of anything you see on this site, contact may be made via the contact page, found here.

It is envisioned to someday form the Ericson Yachts Owners Association - a national affiliation of Ericson owners. While much discussion has occurred on this topic to date, the activity of such a formation is still seen primarily as a future activity (i.e.: no one has the time to put it together at this point). Once such a formation occurs, it is envisioned that this site will become the primary contact point for its membership.

This site is managed and administered by Sean Engle. There also exists a 24 person steering committee which provides input on major decisions, and a group of moderators which provide oversight on the site bulletin board, the EY.o Information Exchange. Questions as to the management, policies or other related issues should be forwarded via the contact page, found here.

Ericson 29 - what to watch for?

Thanks, Christian. I might still require a survey for insurance, since the marina (the only one nearby with a 30' slip available) will probably want insurance,

Ericson 29 - what to watch for?

Sounds to me like youʻre familiar with this stuff, done impressive diligence, the subject boat is far under your theoretical budget, and you can

    Lefiell?

I had heard they got out of marine spars, but (according to Cruiser's Forum) as recently as 2014 they were answering phones and selling spar parts

Ericson 29 - what to watch for?

Just got back from viewing the E29. Overall a good impression, although not as good as hoped for. The boat is fairly clean and in fair to good overall

What ELSE can you do with the wine rack?

These are all great ideas, and thank you everyone for pitching in. I think Toddster is right - there's a lot of ??? about how I will use my galley right

One of my favorite places. I have yet to stump them - they seem to have everything.

I think before designing a keeper, you need to figure out what's going to be kept. For a small appliance, I'd think just an inch-high or so curb across

    Lefiell?

Have any of you So-Cal Vikings dealt with Lefiell? I've sent them multiple emails and left multiple phone messages and have gotten absolutely no reply.

    Geoff,

When I saw your webbing design for a closure, I thought about a piece of marine canvas (Sunbrella) held up with twist studs along
