    These photos show the Halon bottle in place, and also a much better look at the inside of the compartment where the meter and terminal strip are mounted.
    As an "extra" there is a shot of the new coolant overflow tank showing how the level in it almost matches the hose take-off place on the coolant cap. This is preferred to having it higher or lower.
    The former Universal diesel had the coolant bottle mounted somewhat higher, in the port seat lazaretto under the hinged cockpit ...

  2. New Hour Meter & Halon Status light

    After removing the old (crumbling lens) Halon status light in its escutcheon plate, I needed to install a new one. The purpose of that light is to see if the Halon extinguisher has discharged, without opening the hatch to the engine compartment and potentially re-intorducing fresh oxygen when the suspected fire is hopefully out but the metal is hot enough to re-ignite. Or so goes the theory.

    Current ABYC "rules" want this light installed on your Dashboard where you would ...

  3. Starboard (under) Side Deck Reveal

    Here are some pix of the underside of the starb. deck above the galley. I opened up this area two years ago to get at the wiring that goes thru there to the next area aft, the overhead in the hanging locker.
    At the time I was changing all of the bulbs out for new LED bulb assemblies. The original fixtures are still looking like new, FWIW.

    I needed to clean up the wiring that fed the bulkhead light and the light over the aft berth. Factory had used 3-way crimps for these wires ...
