Not Paying Attention $$$$

Happened across this big mistake this weekend at Watch-Hill, RI. Not often do you actual hear a MayDay call, this fellow in his 36+ power yacht happened to run a lateral marker (#2 Watch Hill) on the wrong side at +-20 kts.. how and why, who knows, all I do know; -likely the most expensive weekend of their life.

Seatow and Boat US took it in tow with pumps, but couldn't make the intended travel lift and lost it in the shallows near Sandy Point. According to the USCG/ Seatow chatter, there was injuries when the two on board came to a sudden stop.

Yup. Lots of calls on 16 up here in Maine this weekend. Also lots of random chatter; drunks calling each other and having conversations, kids playing with mics, some idiot holding the channel open. Thank God I didn't need to make a call.

Seatow was zooming around the bay like they were in a race.
