Could you please post the location of the boat, and the engine used?
Thanks.

The boat is located in Oxnard CA, Channel Island Harbor. The engine is a 2002, 6 HP Nissan 4 Stroke outboad.

Do you still use the outboard well or do you have a bracket on the transom? If you use the well, how is the size and weight of the four stroke perform? I have a 1977 Evinrude 6hp 2 stroke and would love the quieter 4 stroke but the darn thing won't quit running.

The engine I have fits in the well. I can’t say this engine is very quite. I think it is because of having only one cylinder. It also vibrates more then I expected for a 4 stroke. The weight of my engine is about the same as a 8 hp 2 stroke, which I would have bought if they were allowed in California. The one thing about my engine is it is really easy on fuel consumption. Plus you don’t have to mess with adding oil to the fuel. My advice, keep your engine and get ear plugs.
