I'd like to replace the Universal 3 cylinder diesel on my 1984 Erickson 35-3. It is one of the models that used a three point engine mount with two mounts at the rear and one at the front. Has anyone found a four mount engine replacement that works without extensive rebuilding of the support structure?

Have you considered the current version of the 3 cylinder Universal diesel, the M25XPB? This uses four mounts. I have the previous version of this powerplant, the 23 hp M25XP, and the newest one has more hp than mine. I believe it is rated at 25 or 27 hp. You can find full specs at the Westerbeke web site.
