Does anyone have any suggestions on how to seal the companion way hatch. I am in the process of restoring a 26 foot Ericson built in 1967. The hatch over the companion way leaks into the solon. I know this is not the way it suppose to be (or is it?).

I don't remember anything special about the way the hatch seals, but mine doesn't leak even under high pressure spray. If there is anything you need pictures of, I can take some this weekend and E-mail or mail them to you. I think my 67 E26 is all original.

Hello Brent Wright,

Thank you for your reply and the offer to send pitchers. The hatch I have is not the original. My Erickson 26 is docked in Channel Island Marina, where there is several of these boats. I will try to catch one of the owners to let me take a look at their hatch.

By the way, I see you live in Simi Valley. Do you keep your boat in the Channel Island Harbor?

Yes, I keep it at Vintage Marina.

Hello Brent Wright,

My boat is in the Channel Island Marina, slip B18. I am there every week end (I live across the street).

Stop by if you get a chance.

Will Do, I get down at least twice a month right now, but hope to get the family more involved.
