Classic performance - Ericson 26

Here's a miscellaneous post from sailnet.com from this afternoon:

"Now, just returned from a beautiful day on S.F. Bay. Fleet Week no doubt. I love going out on the last day. Columbus Day, hardly anyone on the Bay, wind was screaming once we got out of the wind shadow of S.F. We sailed by the USS Nimitz (Nuclear Class Carrier), USS Bonhomme Richard (Amphibious Assault Vessel), USS John Paul Jones (Arleigh Burke Guided Missle Destroyer), and numerous other vessels. What an awesome sight from a 26' Ericson. BTW - first time on this classic boat. I was very impressed. Wonderful motion, solid as a rock, very responsive helm, she just seemed to "glide" thru the chop. We had sunny skies, 70 something degrees and just the top of the south tower of the Golden Gate was visible thru the shroud of fog at the mouth of S.F. Bay.

Surf, you'll be happy to know that we did bury the rail in the white caps. The boat seemed to gain turbo boost once we got over to about 22 degrees (right at the rail). You could literaly feel it in your bottom sides.

Awesome day!!"
