Hi Everyone - I've got the bug to get an autotiller. I've got an E29, Hull 190. I sail primarily the SF Bay, out of Alameda. For those outside the west coast, the bay is pretty heavy winds in the season, a lot 25+ knot days, good chop, heavy currents. I don't think anyone will be surprised if I say my boat is a bit tender with a good of weather helm if I don't reef early!.
From what I've been able to see on the web, the choices for a tiller controlled helm boil down to Simrad (frmrly Navico), or autohelm (raytheon).
Any opinions regarding applicability, product experience, value... would be highly appreciated.
