Just curious. What determines membership level? For instance, I am listed as a Junior member. What are all the levels and how do they rank?

The titles shown are actually based on the number of posts a person has placed (with the exception of the moderators). Right now, these titles and number of required posts are :

New Member 0
Junior Member
Contributing Member I 10
Contributing Member II
Contributing Member III 40
Sustaining Member 75
Contributing Partner 100
Sustaining Partner 200
Principal Partner 300

As the boards are more and more populated, the titles could be adjusted again - or they can be changed all together, etc... The general idea is to provide some recognition to those members who are frequently involved with the boards and the site itself.

"...provide some recognition to those members who are frequently involved with the boards and the site itself."

Nice way to put it!
:D

That sounds much better than simply calling it an obsessive-compulsive behavioral scale...

{ Sorry, Sean. Couldn't resist!! }

Logging off... to take my meds, now.

Actually, you can change your title to anything you like.

When logged in, go to 'User CP' (upper left hand corner button), then to 'Edit Profile'. There you will see a box marked 'Custom Title'; just put in whatever title you wish.

There are a few restrictions on titles like 'Admin' or 'Administrator' - but otherwise it's open.

Sean, I don't get the "Custom Title" box, but then I use Firefox, so perhaps I'm not worthy ;)

When you go into your 'User CP',then 'Edit Profile' you don't see the option to put in a custom title when using Firefox? Really?

Hummmm... I'll take a look at your profile and get back to you - in the meantime, take a look at the image below...

Sorry Sean, think only Admin's get that. Us regular Joe's don't.

Sean, I looked at your window pix and I definitely don't get the Custom Title section. Date of Birth starts that section.

Hi Sean, FYI, I'm at 89 posts and still showing a measily rating of Contributing Member III instead of being a lofty Sustaining Member. It doesn't really matter much to me but I thought you might want to know before I ascend to the rank of Contributing Partner in a few more days. Maybe it has something to do with the Custom Title fix.

I reset the counters - but the problem was that your title control was taken off auto and was set on manual - which I probably did earlier when attempting to resolve this issue.

Since that's is the end of this issue, I'm going to close off this thread... If anyone has a continuing issue on this, please start a new thread, or email me (admin@ericsonyachts.org).

Thanks,
