Happy Birthday to Me :~}

For the last several weeks I have spent a lot of time just browsing and reviewing previous posts – this site really contains some great information. Thanks to all who have posted and a special thanks to Glyn Judson who spent a little time communicating via email and also sending me a copy of the original 1980 Ericson E26 brochure.

Tomorrow I turn 60 and yesterday I bought my self a birthday present, a 1980 Ericson E26. It will be going through a name change from “Why-A-Duck” to “Weekend Escape”. My son and I will be sailing out of Chicago’s Monroe Harbor. Our initial voyage on our new toy will be the 40 mile trip from Waukegan to Chicago.

Any helpful comments or suggestions appreciated. Again thanks for all the great information.

Congrats on the Ericson - and Happy Birthday to you! :egrin:

It's great that you'll be spending some time with your son - you'll make some great memories that stay with you the rest of your life...

Combined (!?) The Weekend Duck...

And, "plan C" would be to, um, "evolve" the name to Duck Soup or Animal Crackers!
:)
Happy Birthday, fair winds, and hours of enjoyment!

Happy Birthday

What a great present! Welcome to the Ericson Clan. You might look at breaking your trip up to about 20 mile legs if possible. 40 miles in a 26 is certainly possible, but shorter legs will be much more fun.
