Abbreviation lingo

Is there a page in this web site that gives the definitions for some of the abbreviations we see in the different threads? I've figured out some of them, PO stands for Previous Owner, FWIW is For What Its Worth but some of the others have me baffled, DDW, IMHO, MHO, HO, S/V before the boats name, etc???:confused: :confused:

Not sure there's a key on here, but I can help you out with the one's you listed.

DDW - dead down wind, running before the wind
IMHO - in my humble opinion
MHO, HO - (i'm guessing this was a variation on the above, the context might help)

S/V is a common designation for Sailing Vessel (ie S/V Endeavor), other designations are F/V - fishing vessel, and M/V - motor vessel.

AFAIK = as far as I know
IMO = in my opinion

Note that boat designations SV, MV, and FV predate the internet by a couple of hundred years.

And, with a bit of searching in Google, here is an on-line catalog...

Some of these are currently used, some might be historic, and some have nothing to do with the 'net.
