Anchorage off Palos Verdes ?

Sven

Seglare
This past Monday some friends of ours came back from Newport (Ca :) to Marina Del Rey. I could have sworn that they said they did the sail in two stages, with a layover at PV. To me PV means Palos Verdes but I don't see any obvious anchorages down there. Is there a place off PV where one can expect to anchor with some semblance of peace and quiet ?

BTW, Seth, if you are monitoring; they sail a 1973 (?) Cal 34 that they ordered new. They always anchor from the stern and always have in this boat. Jim says that the boat sails all over the place if you try to anchor it bow into the wind.

Anyway, back to PV. If there is an achorage down there it sure would be nice and make our weekends more fun. A short day sail down there, 4-5 hours at 4-5 knots, then stay overnight and come back the next day.
