"S" branded roller furling ?

The picture below shows the roller furling drum on La Petite. Does anyone recognize it ?

The only identification I've found on it is an S which I'd guess would stand for Shaeffer ?

The furling setup is remarkable in its elegant simplicity ... works like a charm. The engineering is quite impressive.

Insights would be appreciated.

Thanks,

-Sven

Hey Sven,

Yes that is a Schaeffer. Is that the type that sits behind the forestay or is it part of it?

It is part of the forestay.

I still don't really see how it imparts the twist all the way to the top, but it works :)
