Gyro Test Stand

Back i the 50's I worked in the Test lab at New York Naval Shipyard (Brooklyn Navy Yard). Every year for open house, a Gyro tst stand was outfitted with a chair securely attached, with a seat belt. Roll, pitch, and yaw were independently adjustable in ampletude and frequency.Green was a vrey common color on the takers.

Jeff,

Looks like fun! The Gulf of Mexico is more chop than rollers.....
I wish we could have connected and gone sailing while I was in San Francisco last year!

Well the day started out with light winds when I headed out around Noon. Beautiful, 80 degrees out. Then as to be expected this time of year, strong afternoon breezes piped up around 3:30pm, and with the nature of the geography that is "Hurricane Gulch" at the bottom of San Pedro hill and the bottom of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, I had 22+ knot winds as I was wrapping it around the lighthouse. Always a wake up call there. :0
