Thanks for sharing this with us. I've passed it on to some others.
It really points out that it's too bad that racing has turned into a technological battle rather than a battle of skills and knowledge. Now the equipment is everything. Making landfall only 12 miles off calculations was excellent. Now 25' is expected. and, wow, you needed a large yacht just to haul around the radio! It was more interesting back then.
