I am having a Custom Vinyl Tarp (18 oz) made to cover my boat this winter. (Lake Erie,so our winds and snow can get ugly). The PO made a nice PVC frame, but it forms a tent that has a peak mid-ship and then tapers to the inside of the life lines. This means the tarps will lay over the life lines. The weight of the tarp is about 72lbs itself and combined with winds, that could load up the stanchions.
One thought I had was to make a frame that goes inside the lifelines and holds up the tarp. The 2nd idea is to just remove the life lines/stanchions (I would not remove them at the deck, but at the receptacle at the deck). Anyone regularly do this and have any thoughts?
