Edison VS YS steering?

Will the Edson steering cables and chain work with and enterchange with YS on a Ericson 38 1982?
Same chain sprocket drive?
CABLE 3/16 , 9 feet, with chain package? THANKS

While not a definitive answer, the previous owner of my boat swapped out the YS for an Edson, and he informed me that he had to redo the entire system.

I think you can get Edson to make the right configuration that will work on your YS pedestal but you will need to call them to be sure of sizes/lengths. They are pretty good to work with and actually have people that know what they're talking about on the phone.

I used an Edson chain/cable kit on my 1980 E31. Fit perfectly.
My original chain had a reference number stamped in certain links, that helped confirm the chain size. Measured the cable diameter with calipers.
Carefully measure what you currently have, then talk with Edson to be sure you get the right kit.
