I like the idea and that is a simple installation.

Maybe for a powerboat

As much as I hate the idea of cutting holes in my boat, I especially hate the idea of cutting a hole directly in the line of (arguably) one of the biggest load-areas of the rig, just under where the headstay attaches.

(but it *is* an elegant installation)

Good point. Bad spot to cut a big hole on a sailboat.
