Circuit board on gauge cluster - 30+

No joy with a search.

Anyone know the purpose of this, doesn't appear on the wiring diagram.

It was collocated with the gauge cluster on my 30+.

On a related note, anyone know how to test the diesel tachometer/ simulate the tach signal from the alternator?
